Many of you are hesitant to wear a dress for any occasion, we tend to reserve them for strictly, special occasions, however depending on the type of dress, they can be easily incorporated into any occasion or season. There is even hope in finding the perfect dress that you can wear all year round.  We are going to break down different characteristics to help you find a versatile dress for any time of the year.

 

Dress Cut

 

Feel free to explore whatever dress cut that you feel suits your body the best. The most important thing is to make sure you are fully comfortable because it will be your all year round, go-to dress. We recommend going for a midi length. It is appropriate for the colder months because you can wear them with boots, and it is also a great summertime option with sandals or open-toe heels.   

Dress Sleeve Length

 

 

We feel that short sleeves are the way to go. In the winter or fall when the temperature is a little too cold for our liking, it is effortless to pair a cute jacket on over short sleeves, keeping you both warm and stylish. It will keep you significantly warmer and will not feel bulky underneath whatever layer you decide to put on. But, in the spring and summer, short sleeves will keep you cool.

 

Dress Color

 

 

There are a few different colors that are considered appropriate all year round. The safest route to take would be black, it is a classic staple. It works perfectly for all occasions in the winter but it is also totally acceptable in the summer. If you want to take a risk, go for a red. There are plenty of different shades of red that you can choose according to your skin tone, hair color, etc. Red is both classic and beautiful no matter what time of year it is. 

 

Dress Fabric

 

 

Again, depending on your own individual style, the fabric of your perfect, all year round dress is going to depend. If you want to be daring and make a statement, risk it all with a silk number. We recommend any medium weight cotton. With proper accessories and footwear, you will stay warm and cool when necessary.

 

Dress Pattern

 

 

A solid dress is going to be the safest way to go here, but there are so many beautiful patterns that really do work for all seasons. You can go for polka dots, a not too tropical floral print, or animal print. Plaid might be a little too fall-inspired for the warmer months and stripes may be too nautical for the winter. 
As we previously stated, the most important requirement for finding a versatile year-round dress is comfort. The next needs to be your personality and style. Fashion is a way of expressing ourselves, so don’t be shy to add a statement necklace or keep it minimalistic. So get hunting for your versatile dress, pick the color you are most confident in, and the cut and pattern that makes you feel your best!
