SUMMER TO FALL TRANSITION PIECES
As the days are getting shorter and the air is getting cooler, everyone is itching to grab their favorite chunky sweaters from the back of their closet and stowing away their summer tees and dresses. But before you make the full wardrobe transition, see which of your summer pieces can stick around for just a little bit longer by making them fully appropriate for the fall months ahead.
Short-Sleeve Tees
Whether it is a crew or a v, a graphic or a solid, do not be so quick to rule out your tee shirts just yet. Opt for some high waisted jeans as opposed to high waisted shorts, tuck in your tee and throw on a blazer or a flannel over top. Keep it chic with a pair of clean white sneakers or fully embrace the weather change by sporting your favorite pair of boots that you have not been able to rock in a few months.
Maxi & Midi Dresses/Skirts
Maxi and midi dresses are must-have, go-to pieces for the warmer months cause they keep you cool while still looking cute. And they are so easy to dress up or down. However, there is no reason you cannot make these summer staples work in the fall. Pair your dress with a leather jacket or a chunky sweater along with some chunky black booties to stay fashion-forward while also staying warm as the temperature starts to drop.
Strapless Tops
From animal prints to floral prints, neon colors to pastels, strapless tops were everywhere this summer. Similar to your tees, you were probably pairing these with high waisted shorts or maybe even a denim skirt. Swap your bottoms out for jeans or a funky pair of printed pants and grab one of your favorite chunky cardigans to keep your shoulders covered. You will be comfy and cozy all in one.
Mini Dresses
Another one of summer 19’s biggest trends, the mini dress. Again, coming in all prints, colors, and cuts, they are super quick and easy to just throw on to look effortlessly cute. As we are sure you are not ready to see some of your favorite dresses go just yet, wear them to your fall events this season by tying in a pair of tights, a jacket of your choice and accessorizing with a bakers boy cap. Or, if the weather is still on the warmer side, go for a short sleeve tee or lightweight turtle or mock neck underneath your mini. You will still be saving tons of time getting ready while staying on-trend.
