STAYING STYLISH IN THE RAIN
It is easy to look and feel good when the sun is shining, and the temperature is just right. But it can be difficult for some people to stay feeling that way when the forecast calls for thunderstorms.
Find Your Perfect Raincoat
It is important to invest in a raincoat that you really love. You want to look forward to wearing it, as opposed to looking it as some ugly piece of clothing that you are forced to wear. You will dread the rainy days a lot less if you have an awesome jacket to wear to keep you dry. Go for one that has a shape that really flatters your body and a color that you think suits you the best.
Wear Darker Separates
To avoid any mud stains or dirty watermarks, we advise you to wear darker colored clothing pieces underneath whatever type of raincoat you have. Wearing black or navy will do a better job of hiding any wet-weather accidents that might have come your way either during your commute or while running an errand.
Proper Footwear
Rainboots are obviously the most practical choice of footwear when it comes to battling the rain. Luckily, they make so many different varieties these days. There are all different heights, colors, heel heights, etc. If rainboots just are not your thing, regular ankle boots are fine as long as they are waterproof and a good enough height so that no water gets in. Cozy socks are also a great way to stay warm and dry in your shoes.
Pay Attention To Material
When picking out your rainy day outfit, it is best to go for water absorbent materials. Stick to cotton or cotton-blend items. We would suggest staying away from wool. Wool not only does not only take on water very well but when it gets wet, it will start to smell musky and we do not want that. Cotton is a great option because if you get wet you will stay comfortable and still be cozy!
Mind Your Hair
Do not waste your time blowing out your hair or spending an extra few minutes curling or straightening it. The moisture, humidity, and wind is only going to waste your efforts. Take this as an opportunity to try the updo you have had saved on Pinterest for a while. A ponytail or a bun also never goes out of style!
