OUR FAVORITE 2020 NYFW MOMENTS
Last weeks' New York Fall/Winter Fashion Week was filled with so many moments that deserve an immense amount of recognition and that will never be forgotten. There were celebrity sightings, some of the most inclusive shows we have seen so far, and exclusive brand launches. Read on for a select few of our favorite stand out moments!
Chromat’s Inclusivity:
Chromat created one of the most inclusive and creative experiences at NYFW. Becca Mccharen-Trans’ swim and workout wear brand were executed in such an astonishing way. This year, the brand totally skipped the runway as a whole and instead took over a basement level gym in Manhattan. Bodies of all genders, shapes, sizes, abilities, etc, engaged in different activities from doing a series of workouts to choreographed dance routines. It seemed less about the clothing and more about what our bodies are capable of doing, keeping it known that all bodies should have access to the same activities, no matter what it may be. Mccharen-Trans really got the message across that, athletes of any body type, practice, or passion would be lucky to pump it up in some Chromat.
Mad Plaid:
Whether it is pretty in pink, punked to the max or showing up in the most unexpected places, this distinct pattern was nearly impossible to miss. Plaid makes a comeback for fall 2020 and it was shown in various styles. There was the grunge rock influence as seen in the black and red sleeveless dress at Monse with the flyaway hem. There was also the nod to British tailoring like in the belted coats at Brock Collection and the elongated shirts at Rag & Bone. We are definitely not mad about seeing plaid making a return to the fashion world this fall as it is one of our favorite looks to sport in the fall season.

Miley Cyrus’ Runway Debut
Marc Jacobs knows how to end New York Fashion Week with a bang. Jacobs followed up last season’s show where he began with the models' finale walk by creating a performance art piece for his fall 2020 collection, enlisting fifty-four dancers that scattered around the stage as groups of models walked in between them. Among the chaos, musician Miley Cyrus took the runway modeling a black bra-like top, matching trousers and a zebra-print coat, marking her New York Fashion Week fall 2020 runway debut.
