Introducing Velardewear

            As a New York based company, we love to highlight young New York designers and artists. Beautiful designs that embrace the creativity and diversity of the city we love.  This week we’re launching the Velardewear Collection. Adam Velarde is a Brooklyn based artist, who began creating unique pieces to curate his Velardewear collection.

            Adam was born in Tucson, Arizona and is of Mexican, Yaqui and Spanish descent. His heritage and upbringing influence’s his art. Much of his work is heavily inspired by Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Catholic church in Mexico. Adam combines this old world inspiration with contemporary bright color contrast in all of his pieces. He describes his work as, “darkly romantic and wrestles with the themes of coming of age and ongoing search for belonging.”
