There are plenty of exciting ways to repurpose old clothing. Read on for some ideas!
Tie-Dye
A really fun way to repurpose a plain white t-shirt, sweatshirt or pair of sweats is to tie-dye it! Whether you have an old item that is stained or a plain white-tee, tie-dying it is a great way to blend the stain in and be able to wear that piece again. Once you gather up all the supplies you need in order to successfully tie-dye, it is a super convenient activity that you can do right from home.
Cutting & Distressing
The warmer weather is approaching which means shorts are going to back in season soon, especially denim shorts. If you own a pair of jeans that you noticed you did not wear nearly as much as you intended on, consider cutting them into denim shorts. This will save you some money on buying new shorts and you have the freedom to completely make them your own!
If you just want to take a basic pair of jeans up a notch, you can cut them to make them cropped and have a frayed hem. Carefully take a razor blade to the knees and create some distressing for a more relaxed, edgy look. You can even take some bleach to a pair of jeans to again create that tie-dye effect.
Patchwork
For some more denim repurposing inspiration, try patchwork! Whether you take some pieces from another pair of jeans that are a different color, a swatch of fabric that you have always liked or a patterned piece of fabric, all you need is a needle and some thread to patch this onto either the knees of your jeans or the back pocket to keep it subtle but still super cute.
Cropping
If you are tired of tucking in the same t-shirts into your jeans or are over the oversized look, carefully take a pair of scissors to it and transform it into a crop top! You can also always turn it into a muscle tee and remove the sleeves or take it from a crewneck to a V-neck! If you do not want the sleeves or bottom hem to be perfectly cut, a razor blade is a great way to create a frayed edge.
