HOLIDAY PARTY OUTFIT IDEAS

A holiday party can easily be one of the most difficult occasions to find an outfit for. It is quite a challenge to look festive without overdoing it, while also staying warm and relatively comfortable. Luckily, when it comes to this type of event, there are plenty of roads you can go down in terms of choosing what kind of look to go for.

Color Palette

There is an array of colors that are acceptable for a holiday party. But, depending on the holiday, some are more acceptable than others. It is an obvious, go-to, to wear either green or red if you plan on attending a Christmas party, you cannot go wrong there. However, black is always a safe option, whether it is a Christmas party, a New Year’s party or just a laid back, family, holiday dinner party. Some other colors that work for most holiday events are champagne, gold or silver. These colors tend to give either a metallic or sparkly touch, which makes it all the more doable for holiday parties.

Silhouettes

Depending on what you are most comfortable in, or what best suits the type of party you are attending, you can opt for whatever type of silhouette you like when choosing what to wear to a holiday party. What is great about a dress or a jumpsuit, is that it is one piece and you do not need to worry about finding something to match, aside from shoes obviously. Wearing a one-piece definitely eliminates a ton of stress. But, if you prefer an outfit with pants and a top, or a skirt and a top, this requires a little bit more effort.

Accents

A major plus for holiday party attire is that there are so many accents, fabrics, prints, etc., that you can wear that makes your look a lot more festive. You can go with velvet, sequins or even animal print. Also, there is no better time to rock some faux fur than the wintertime. Really anything goes and to a certain extent, the more extravagant your look, the better. A holiday party is a chance to have fun with your outfit and not hold back.

Accessories

If you feel like your outfit is a little bit on the boring side, or that your look can just be spruced up a bit, do not hesitate to accessorize. You can find a sparky hair clip that compliments your outfit, a fun, patterned headband that adds a pop of color, or you can load up on the chunky jewelry to give your look a classic, yet edgy touch. A fun way to take a simple outfit to the next level when it comes to jewelry is mixing metals. Throw on a pair of chunky gold hoops, some silver and gold rings, even a necklace or 2. Layering necklaces is a huge trend and adds a super elegant touch to any outfit.
