FALL/WINTER 2020 TRENDS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT
Now that the leaves are changing and the temperature has significantly dropped, I think it is time to welcome this upcoming cold-weather season with open arms. Thankfully, the high fashion, yet affordable trends of Fall and Winter 2020 are making the transition a lot easier and more exciting.
Prairie Dresses
Carrying over from the spring and summer, the infamous prairie dress. This trend was seen all over Instagram as summer's most romantic trend. The prairie dress has roots in the rural 19th century and is defined by its exaggerated, high neckline, elongated skirt and sleeves, and often ruffled details or ditzy floral prints. With its vintage elegance and versatile elements, it can easily be transitioned from a summer staple to a cold-weather winner.
Itty Bitty Bags
While oversized totes will always be a super convenient, fashion-forward, go-to, we have seen the micro bag completely take over the last couple of seasons. Ranging from designer to affordable, regardless of how you choose to rock it, owning a mini bag does come with one useful attribute: it definitely forces you to edit down your belongings to strictly essentials, even if it is just your airpods.
Capes
Seen all over the Fall ‘19 runways, and worn by the biggest street style stars, capes have been making their statement in the world of fashion for quite some time now. The cape is a fun, new take on chic outerwear and we are here for it. Available in a variety of different colors, cuts, and fabrics, the popularity of capes is sure to stick around for the rest of the year and follow us into the Winter ‘20 season.
Houndstooth
It is obvious that designers had a lot of fun with patterns this season. One of the top, if not the most popular print seen during last month's Fashion Week was houndstooth, specifically, in the traditional black and white. And it is safe to say it is not going anywhere anytime soon. Chanel was definitely a big advocate for this trendy pattern this season in their Fall 2019 Ready To Wear collection. Represent this trend with a coat, pants, an accessory, or all three!
Suit Sets
Women's suit sets are popping up everywhere. They have really become the ultimate cool-girl must-have for the current and upcoming seasons. You will find them in both sleek-modern and oversized cuts, both serving an ultra-feminine style. On the other hand, dabbling into the massive 70's trend going on at the moment, these suits are also seen with lots of retro style inspiration, with shoulder pads, giving a hint of masculinity.
