DIY HALLOWEEN COSTUME IDEAS

So it is October 30th and you are scrambling for a last-minute Halloween costume yet again. Try not to stress it though, there are actually tons of great costumes either already hiding in your closet or that are super easy to throw together yourself. To give you some inspiration, we have come up with some great options, that are so easy and effortless to put together, you will be surprised you did not think of them yourself.
Women Costume Ideas

Animal Prints - Whether it is a solo costume, or one for the whole family, utilizing your animal print pieces is always a quick and easy way to go. Or, if you are lacking in the animal print department, just throw on an all-black outfit of your choice, draw some whiskers on your face and throw on some cat ears for an effortless, go-to, last-minute Halloween costume.
1950's Housewife - or this one, any fit and flare style dress, or vintage-looking skirt will work, and do not forget the apron! A pair of pumps or flats, depending on which you prefer, pearls and some red lipstick will add a nice touch. To take it to the next level, you can sport some white gloves, bring along a rolling pin or even some oven mitts too.
Men Costume Ideas

Basketball player/athlete - What sports fanatic would not want to be their favorite athlete for a day? Grab your favorite jersey from your closet, pair it with whatever bottoms you are most comfortable in or that go best with your desired jersey and do not hesitate with a hat or ball of your choice.
Danny Zuko from Grease - It is pretty easy to nail the Danny Zuko look. Just tuck a white tee into black jeans and throw on a killer leather jacket. Grease your hair back and grow out your sideburns to really fit the part. For the finishing touches, stick a cigarette behind your ear or carry a comb in your back pocket!
Girls Costume Ideas

Minnie Mouse - Go for red on the bottom, preferably (but not a must) with white polka dots and any black top to get the Minnie Mouse vibe going. Accessorize with some classic Minnie ears, white gloves and draw on a black nose to totally nail this costume!
Boo (Monsters Inc) - One of the most simple, and one of the cutest, all you need is any pair of purple bottoms and any pink top. You can finish it off with some white sneakers to replicate Boo’s white socks or wear whatever shoes you prefer. Lastly, give it the complete Boo effect with some pigtails and a teddy bear!
Boys Costume Ideas

Farmer/Cowboy/Lumberjack - With just two key pieces, this costume can be super versatile. Throw together his coziest flannel and a pair of jeans, tie in a bandana and a straw hat to get that farmer’s aesthetic. Or, swap the straw hat for a cowboy hat for a cute cowboy costume. And last but not least, you can opt for a beanie instead to create the lumberjack look!
Minion - Another common one for kids, dressing as a minion from the Despicable Me movies has become a classic. All you need is a yellow top, a pair of overalls and black gloves if you have them. The most important piece of the costume though, the goggles. Either purchased online or made yourself, they are definitely a must-have to put this costume together.
